TALENT SWELLS CHAMPIONS TOUR RANKS IN 2005

Can the over-50 set play competitive golf?

Today, we know the answer to that question is an unequivocal -- yes. But a
quarter of a century ago, when the Champions Tour was in its infancy, it
was anybody's guess.

How silly does that sound in 2005? Well, considering that Jay Haas and Tom
Kite will still be hanging around the PGA TOUR much of the time at the ages
of 51 and 54, respectively, and that Hale Irwin, at 59, comes into the 2005
Champions Tour season as one of the players to beat -- again -- we can say
it's pretty close to side-splitting.

Old? It's a state of mind. Irwin's been on cruise control since he hit the
Tour. Craig Stadler dominated the 2004 season at 51. Mark McNulty made
waves as a 50-year-old rookie. And Gil Morgan, Larry Nelson and Bruce
Fleisher are all over 55 and all in the top six money winners. Again.

So what can we expect in 2005 for the 25th anniversary season? Well, lots
of celebrations and more of the same -- from Stadler and Irwin, in particular.

Irwin, despite back problems, finished off his seventh $2 million-plus
season in the last eight years and won his second Charles Schwab Cup in
2004. And, he finished second on the money list to Stadler, who won five
times.

Stadler's success was hardly a surprise considering that he promptly won
three Champions Tour events after turning 50 in June of 2003. And a week
after winning the Ford Senior Players Championship that year, he bounced
over to the PGA TOUR to win the B.C. Open.

McNulty's three wins in 2004 feel like a springboard to even better things
in 2005. Don't be surprised to see Peter Jacobsen, who broke through after
hip surgery to win his first major at the 2003 U.S. Senior Open, and D.A.
Weibring, who won once, have great seasons, either.

The Michigan Golf Hall of Fame has nominated eight individuals for the
five available slots for this year's HOF. The eight individuals nominated

BANK OF ANN ARBOR FUTURES GOLF CLASSIC SETS DATES
The Bank of Ann Arbor FUTURES Golf Classic will hold this year's pro-am on
June 23 with the tournament to follow from June 24-26.

The FUTURES Golf Tour is celebrating its 25th season this year. The Tour
has emerged as the "official developmental tour of the LPGA" and as a key
step in "graduating" players to the LPGA Tour.

The Bank of Ann Arbor Futures Golf Classic is one of four tournaments that
raised their prize purses for 2005. Players will be playing for $65,000.

The tournament will be held at Lake Forest Golf Club and is directed by
course owner, Gilda Johnson. Miguel Perez is the host professional.

TREETOPS PAR 3 SHOOTOUT DATES ANNOUNCED
The 2005 dates for the Treetops Tylenol Par 3 Shootout will be Monday,
June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. The players will be announced at a later date.

PGA MERCHANDISE SHOW PREVIEW
Top golf retailers and influential PGA Professionals are among early
registrants for the 52nd PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. Attendees
are traveling from around the world for the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show
including an outdoor Golf Demo Day (Jan. 26), an extensive education
conference (Jan. 27-29) and the trade show (Jan. 27-30), featuring more
than 1,200 exhibitors and several interactive programs.

Currently, attendees from all 50 states and 64 countries have pre-registered
to attend the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show. Of particular significance, leading
industry retailers have reserved badges for their key decision makers to
preview the new seasonıs top merchandise.

The 2005 PGA Merchandise Show will feature the outdoor Demo Day, an enhanced

BOYNE FILLING COFFERS WITH WHITE GOLD
Boyne Mountain in Boyne Falls and Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs announced
that they had a record number of 12,470 paid skier and snowboarder visits
on Wednesday, December 29th, breaking a record set only the day before of
11,741. According to spokesperson, Julie Ard, these new records exceed the
previous set in January of 2002 and are almost 2,000 higher than any previous
Christmas to New Yearıs holiday period in the resortsı history.

BIG BREAK III-LADIES ONLY
This time Michigan missed out on show time in the upcoming 3rd edition of
The Big Break. This is the Ladies Only edition and features three Californians,
two Canadians, two Floridians and representatives from Missouri, New York and
Nebraska, will premier on the Golf Channel on February 8. In the prior two
shows, Michigan was represented by Anthony Sorentino of Rochester Hills, who
finished second in The Big Break and Bart Lower, from Ionia, who finished third
in Big Break II.

The Ladies Only show was taped at Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Virginia, home of
the Michelob Ultra LPGA tournament. Previous shows were taped at Treetops
Resort in Gaylord and four courses in the Las Vegas area. The winner will
have exemptions to four LPGA tournaments in 2005.

Ladies Only, will be hosted by Vince Cellini and Stephanie Sparks.
