The club had its soft opening last year and this past week had architect Thomas McBroom to partake in the official grand opening. Thad Gutowski of the MG was also on hand and will give our readers a more in depth impression of the club in our Summer MG issue. However, it is absolutely a major course destination in the metro Detroit and Windsor area. As many of you know the highest elevation in Southern Ontario, is probably the top of the Windsor Casino. The place is flat. But Thomas McBroom has created yet another masterpiece in his quest to be one the greatest Canadian golf architects. A list of descriptors of the course would include, fair but tough, awesome array of bunkers, immense and intense green sites, beautifully sculpted fairways and a first rate clubhouse and staff. Dave Cours, the General Manager and Dave Findlay, the Head Golf Professional, head up a service oriented team. Coco Homes, owner of the complex, and Liberty Realty, the real estate side of the venture, will sell you a terrific condo right on the course. http://ambassadorgolfclub.com ***

EARL WOODS PASSES
You would have to be sleeping in a bunker in Yellow Knife not to know that Earl Woods had passed this week. A number of years ago, I attended a well attended Washtenaw County Speakers Series, that featured Earl Woods. To be sure, the night was filled with and then "Tiger did..." comments, but overall, it was a well balanced discussion of a father and son relationship. I came away from that session thinking about my own father and the impact he had on my life. In addition, I revisited some of the memories I have of my son and wondered about the impact I have had on his life. Earl Woods indicated that he was not trying to create a great golfer in Tiger, but a great person. Earl, thanks for the memories.
