As the Ryder Cup approaches, the life and times of Walter Hagen will be
of interest to everyone. He captained the first six Ryder Cups and helped
to bring it to its prominance.

For a good see, you can tune in four shows of "The Haig" now showing on
the Michigan Golfer Television channel The Haig Visits Cadillac Walter Hagen had the opportunity to stop by one of his old haunts a month ago, as he visited Pilgrim's Village in Cadillac. It was here that The Haig spent many a wonderful summer away from the crowded and busy world of suburban Detroit. It was also here that he penned his biography, "The Walter Hagen Story".

"The Haig" Golf Tournament
Walter Hagen returned to Traverse City in June to play in "The Haig"
golf tournament. While in town, he had a wonderful time bumping into a
number of his friends and pals. He visited Traverse City Country Club,
stopped by Little Bos, his watering hole for many years and hit the
first ball at The Haig Tournament. Arnold Palmer also drops in on the
show and tells about his trip to Traverse City to see "The Haig"
Walter Hagen and the Ryder Cup
Walter Hagen, "The Haig" is excited about the 2004 Ryder Cup and also,
that it will take place at Oakland Hills CC. Oakland Hills CC was the site
of his first professional golf position after leaving New York. In our
show, "The Haig" discusses his friendship with the Duke of Windsor,
the first U.S.Ryder Cup win on "American soil" and the love he
had playing for his country
