MGN ON THE ROAD

For those of you that have been following The Big Break series on the Golf Channel, you know that Anthony"Soda Pop" Sorentino of Rochester Hills, is in the final pairing to find out who will get The Big Break. Be sure to tune in this coming Tuesday at 8:00 on the Golf Channel for the the dramatic conclusion of The Big Break. The Golf Channel will air a special 3-hour finale beginning Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

Anthony and Justin Peters, of Plantation Florida will battle head-to-head in a match play round to determine who will walk away with the grand prize - four exemptions on the 2004 Canadian Tour. The program will feature a live in-studio contestant reunion and the unveiling of The Big Break champion. Following the broadcast, an additional hour will be dedicated to viewer calls and emails.

Meet Anthony     
Young and cocky – and always on the lookout for a good debate – “Soda Pop” (nicknamed during the show for his penchant for the carbonated beverage) appears on the surface to be a golf rebel. He even had to be talked into auditioning for The Big Break by his mother. Don't let his Grateful Dead head cover fool you. His dreams are like those of most of his fellow contestants – to make it on the big tour. Anthony has professional status, having played on the Developmental Players Tour, making a good percentage of the cuts in 2002. He has been an alternate in two U.S. Amateurs and is most proud of qualifying for his first national tournament (Western Amateur). Like a million other golfers, Anthony’s perfect day is playing in the final group at the final round of the Masters or U.S. Open Championship.

Meet Justin      
Justin is a risk taker. He had enough of a dead-end job in telemarketing septic tank products and decided to charge a $17,500 entry fee on his credit card for a golf tour in Florida, hoping to play well enough to pay off the debt with winnings. Having battled adversity with the loss of his father to suicide, Justin and his daughter live with his mother (his hero) to get by. His mother says she'll quit smoking if he wins The Big Break. Justin caddies part-time to support his dream of playing regularly one day on a major tour. His professional playing highlights include competing at the 2001 PGA Tour Honda Classic, where he missed the cut, and the 2001 Golden Bear Tour, where he finished 33rd on the money list. He holds a Player of the Year title in Massachusetts and was Big West Conference Player of the Year while attending the University of Nevada. Justin lives by the motto of the late basketball coach, Jim Valvano, "Don't give up, Don't ever give up."

GAYLORD GOLF MECCA PROPERTIES UNDERGO CHANGES
Two Gaylord Golf Mecca members will have a significant new looks when golfers show up next season tee-it-up. Michaywe`Pines has undergone extensive renovations to its golf course, while Treetops Resort has seen significant renovations done to its lodging facilities .

As one of Gaylord, Michigan’s more mature golf courses, the Pines Course at Michaywe finalized a $1.5 million dollar restoration and renovation. Planned renovations included a new state of the art irrigation system, reshaping and restoring of all bunkers, and new cart paths.

Treetops Resort completed its $1.5-million dollar renovation and upgrade of its Lodge rooms this past summer. The renovations most notably included room upgrades, a new Spa & Fitness Center, a new check in area and an expanded lobby with a fireplace and cozy furniture, large television and an area for kids to enjoy. Newly located in the lobby area are a concierge desk and the Treetops real-estate office.
