Golf Reading and Giving List for the Holidays

CUT SHOT by John Corrigan

The debut mystery novel from John R. Corrigan combines the hardboiled detective fiction genre with real world details of the PGA Tour for a present day whodunit.

Jack Austin has not won a single tournament during his ten years on the PGA Tour and struggles with dyslexia, yet life is great. That is, until he learns that a mobster-led gambling ring is betting on each tournament, and one of the players is being blackmailed and forced to cheat. In an attempt to prevent a scandal, Jack enters the underworld to protect the game he loves.

Author John Corrigan is dyslexic and draws upon his own dyslexic experiences for Jack Austin's struggles in CUT SHOT. For his research in making the PGA Tour authentic in CUT SHOT, he relied on his good friend and Tour player, J.P. Hayes. Hayes was the winner of the 1998 Buick Classic.

THE ART OF GOLF DESIGN paintings by Michael Miller and essays by Geoff Shackelford.

Some of golf's best holes at Augusta National, Pinehurst, National Golf Links of America, Pasatiempo, Pebble Beach, Sand Hills, Crystal Downs, Cypress Point, and Winged Foot are depicted in Mike's 19th Century style of painting with descriptions by Geoff.

THE SCRAPBOOK OF OLD TOM MORRIS by David Joy.

What began as a prop in David's one-man show turned into an actual scrapbook of Old Tom Morris' life. Even Prince Andrew who was in attendance at one of David's shows was captivated by the prop and wanted a copy. THE SCRAPBOOK OF OLD TOM MORRIS is a testament to golf's first superstar recounting the early days of golf and life in the late 1800s and early 1900s including the emotionally packed story of the life and death of Young Tom Morris.
