Cozumel....because A couple of years ago, I ran a half marathon in Cozumel, Mexico. It was my first time on the island and if it were not for a return to run another marathon, it probably would have been my last. Frankly, there was just not that much to do. Yes, I snokeled and swam and did my half marathon, but alas no golf. Really not much of anything. Well that need was addressed in 2001 by the Nicklaus Group, when they designed the Cozumel Country Club. Cut our of native mangrove swamps, the course represents one of the great green areas on the island. It is an 18 hole championship course of 6,900 yards playing to a par 72. The clubhouse includes a reception area, bar lounge and a 2,000 square meter fully stocked pro shop with equipment available for rent or purchase. The cost for a round of golf is $110.
